Hawaii Governor visits Ilocos Norte

LAOAG CITY (Oct. 18) — Hawaii Governor David Ige paid a courtesy call on Ilocos Norte Vice Governor Angelo Marcos Barba at the Provincial Capitol here on Oct. 18, 2017.

Their meeting was centered on the strengthening of ties between the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte (PGIN) and the State of Hawaii through the exchange of good will and practices in governance as well as opportunities for employment and development.

It was the first visit of Governor Ige in the Philippines together with his trade delegation composed of the Filipino Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Hawaii and Department of Business Economic Development and Tourism.

Governor Ige said his visit aims to share business venture with the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (SMES) and to be acquainted with the tourism investment opportunities here in the province.

Vice Governor Barba assured that the Sangguniang Panlalawigan is willing to draft the necessary measures.

In fact, the vice governor said the SP recently passed a resolution on the sisterhood of PGIN and State of Hawaii.

Meanwhile, Governor Ige cited many Fil-Am personalities in Hawaii who became successful in their respective field of profession. (Report from the Vice Governor’s Office)
