Twin brothers shot dead

SOLSONA, Ilocos Norte, April 8–Ernesto Tagapuen, 55, and his twin brother Rudy, both farmers, were shot to death while they were taking dinner at 9 p.m. inside their house in Brgy. Catangraran, this town, lawmen reported.

Chief Inspector Denver Alidao, police chief, said that an armed man, wearing a bonnet, hid under the cover of darkness. Four gunshots rung out and the bloodied victims slumped to the floor.

Ernesto died on the spot while Rudy expired at the hospital. Investigators were looking into the angle of personal dispute over the use of water system among farmers as motive of the gun slay.

At press time, three farmers were subjected to paraffin test to determine if one of them had fired a gun. A gun powder burn is usually retained in a person’s hand in case he fired a gun a few hours after the incident.
