BACARRA, Ilocos Norte, Jan. 16—A 58-year-old man, whose family now lives in USA, was found dead at dawn today in a roadside about 200 meters away from his residence at Brgy. Cabaruan, this town.
Police said the body of the victim (whose name withheld by Sentinel) bore 15 stab wounds, his penis was cut off and found near his head.
Senior Inspector Jephre Taccad, town police chief, said investigators were looking into all angles including his love affair to determine the motive behind the gory killing.
“Seguro matindi ang galit ng salarin kaya nagawa niya ang karumaldumal na krimen na ito,” an observer told reporters.
A nephew said he saw the victim, his uncle and a woman companion on the eve of the incident.
Both were seen together having snack in a tapsilog eatery at the town proper where he (the nephew) worked.
The nephew added that on his way home after his work at 3:30 a.m., he spotted on the roadside his uncle slumped beside his motorcycle.
Thinking his uncle figured in a vehicular accident, he quickly headed for home to seek help only to find out later that the victim died of multiple stab wounds.
Another relative said the victim, who lived alone with no helper or even housemaid, was fond of wearing glamorous jewels and enjoyed dining out with a lot of female friends.(tsg w/ reports from rl, mma, nrt, ga, da,dd)
