Senator Bongbong supports Marcos family members in 2016 election bid

After formally announcing his plans to seek for vice presidency in the upcoming elections, Senator Bongbong Marcos arrives in Ilocos Norte today, October 16 to express support to the members of the Marcos family in their 2016 election bid.

Ilocos Norte Governor Imee R. Marcos, her second son Matthew Marcos-Manotoc and the province’s Second District Congresswoman Imelda R. Marcos cast their bids together at the Commission on Elections provincial office at around 4:00 p.m. on the last day of filing of Certificate of Candidacy (COC).

Aiming for the second highest elective position in the country, Senator Marcos said that “the Ilocanos’ support, good wishes and regards to our family have become an invaluable part of our lives.”

Governor Imee and Congresswoman Imelda who are both on their second-term will run for reelection in the same positions. While first-timer Matthew Marcos-Manotoc is seeking for the position of board member in the province’s second district.

Earlier today, the Marcos family was joined by numerous Ilocanos and Marcos loyalists in athanksgiving mass held at the Immaculate Conception Parish in Batac City, their hometown.

In a short message after the mass, Governor Imee expressed her gratitude to the Ilocano community for their “blessing, benediction and support and your unfailing affection for my family and we thank you for the pride and the honor of serving you throughout the decades.—John Michael Mugas, PGIN-CMO
