SARRAT, Ilocos Norte (Oct. 6) – On instruction of President Aquino, Education Secretary Armin Luistro arrived here and personally extended P-Noy’s condolence to the bereaved families of the road mishap victims, several were students of Santa Rosa National High School.
At least 9 people perished in the worst collision between a passenger jeep and 14-wheeler truck in Brgy Pariir, this town last Oct. 2. Four other students were injured in the accident and now being treated in the hospitals.
Sec. Luistro also attended a holy mass offered for the victims. 1st District Rep. Rodolfo Fariñas, Sarrat Mayor Edito Balintona, other local officials, victims’ relatives, teachers and students joined the rites.
The mass was held at the same spot where the accident occurred. (Theo S. Guiang)
