Robbers steal P1 million worth of jewelry

PAOAY, Ilocos Norte (May 17) – Robbers carted away about P1 million worth of jewelry and P20,000 cash in this town.
Consuelo Gajeton said that when she woke up in the morning she noticed that their cabinets were opened and its drawers were missing.

Investigation showed that the suspects forcibly entered through one of the windows.

Police warned the public to make sure that all doors and windows of their houses are locked before going to bed.

Meanwhile, Brgy. Chairman Nelson Gooc of Brgy. San Agustin of this town emerged unscathed when a suspected armed robber fired at him early this morning.

He said that he was at the back of their house when suddenly a hooded man appeared with a handgun.

He added that a day before the incident, two suspicious-looking men roamed around in his barangay. They were looking for a funeral wake so they could play card games. (tsg)
