The TPKP project involves the construction, installation and establishment of “universal bridges” in priority agrarian reform communities (ARCs) which will serve as their road networks to main markets.

These bridges aim to promote rural development by linking the ARCs in the economic mainstream and realize development potentials in order to increase productivity and income.

Representatives of DPWH gave Acuña an assurance that the Buted Bridge will be completed within the first quarter of the year.

The regional director also visited the Rice Coffee Production Building in Banna and the Binakol Craft Production Building in Sarrat.

During a meeting, Acuña reminded the employees of DAR Ilocos Norte about the important role of the department in national development.

“Agrarian reform is number one in the peace process agenda,” he said.

Acuña replaced Homer Tobias as head of DAR Region I. Tobias is now the regional director of DAR Region II.
