Ombudsman clears 4 INPPO cops

LAOAG CITY (Nov. 4) – The Office of Ombudsman has dismissed the case filed by PO3 Marvin Pascua against his four fellow police officers.

In the decision, PO1 Harold Leaño, PO1 Ashley Bryan Hayrin, PO1 Alan Viloria and PO1 Vesolyn Baengan, who are all assigned at the Ilocos Norte Police Provincial Office (INPPO) were found innocent on the charges stating that there was lack of strong evidence against the four.

The decision said  the recorded telephone conversation, which Pascua presented as evidence, was “inadmissible.”

It was recalled that Pascua filed charges against the four for their apparent neglect in handling the gun case of an arrested person in Brgy. Caparispisan, Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte several years ago. (Theo S. Guiang)
