NBI hunts illegal recruiter

LAOAG CITY–Lawyer Diosdado Araos, National Bureau of Investigation supervising agent in Ilocos Norte, disclosed a manhunt against a suspected illegal recruiter who allegedly victimized several applicants for care giver jobs in New Zealand, Canada, Australia, South Korea and other countries.

The woman suspect, a native of Currimao, Ilocos Norte, went to a care giver training institute here and recruited applicants for the overseas jobs, report said.

The suspect later collected a big sum of money from the victims based on the individual receipts issued by her.

The victims were late to find out that the woman was illegal recruiter when she abandoned them and went into hiding while they were supposed to attend their purported pre-departure orientation seminar or PDOS last March 17.

The NBI had readied the filing of large scale swindling charges against the suspect.(bbr)
