More scholars needed in Ilocos Science High School

As the demand for engineers, scientists and mathematicians continues to grow in the country, Racquel M. Espiritu, Regional Coordinator of the Department of Science and Technology Scholarship Program urged students in Ilocos region to take advantage of DOST scholarship programs.

During the “Ammuentayo” radio program held recently at DZNL Aksyon Radyo in San Fernando City, Espiritu specifically called those in far-flung areas to avail of the DOST program dubbed “Maging Iskolar ng Pisay!” as the application is now on going.

She also announced that the Philippine Science High School (PSHS) is accepting the lateral admission of students who finished Grade 7 or Grade 8 under the new K-12 curriculum emphasizing the requirements posted in the official website www.pshs.edu.ph.

“Some countries are really advanced and well-developed today because many of our graduates are working there. This is why we need to inspire the young ones and convince them to choose science as field of study and do so by being DOST scholars,” Espiritu concluded. (Monette H. Herrera)
