Laoag City Government Distributes Vitamins to Schools

In relation to the situation of Laoag City which was earlier declared under the state of calamity due to the increased number of Dengue cases, the city government through the leadership of Mayor Hon. Michael V. Fariñas distributed Vitamin C to all public elementary schools in the Division of Laoag City to help bolster the immune system of pupils.

Other preventive measures were undertaken to combat mosquitoes were the cleaning and fumigation of possible breeding places of mosquitoes and the planting of mosquito repellant plants within the school campuses and household backyards such as Nim tree and Citronella plants.

On the other hand, DepEd Division of Laoag City through the Schools Division Superintendent, Miss Araceli C. Pastor disseminated a Dengue Advisory to all schools in Laoag City.

The said advisory contained reminders, activities, and precautionary measures to eradicate Dengue victims in the city. The school authorities were directed to implement the mentioned advisory to their respective schools.

The City Government, Department of Health, Department of Education, and other government and non-government organizations joined forces to intensify the Anti-Dengue Campaign.
