In his latest directive, Colonel Chan also tasked his field commanders to double their efforts in foot and mobile patrols especially in areas prone to criminal activities.

Chan stressed that the policemen should always be visibly seen 24 hours a day in busy and non-busy streets to scare away would-be criminals.

In the conduct of checkpoints, the team leaders shall have a direct coordination with his office to avoid any problem that may arise in case of complaint.

Colonel Chan’s directive came following the August 18 two separate violent incidents in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte wherein a businessman and his daughter were killed in an ambush by motorcycle riding armed men and the rob-slay of a Bangladeshi national who was allegedly engaged in 5-6 usury trade.
