DINGRAS, Ilocos Norte (Dec. 31)—“No lavish Christmas program for the coop this year,” INEC general manager Engr. Renato Balintec reported saying that instead they sent financial assistance to the victims of typhoon Pablo in Mindanao.
Balintec said that a P200,000 cash donation was given directly to Davao Norte Electric Cooperative (DANECO) and Davao Oriental Electric Cooperative (DORECO) to help alleviate the plight of the typhoon victims in Mindanao.
He disclosed that the decision to send cash donation, instead of sending INEC technical men to help restore the destroyed electric facilities there, was approved by the board of directors.
The general manager, however, said that instead of the general Christmas party, each department of INEC held a simple Christmas party to treat their personnel. (Theo. S. Guiang)
