SAN NICOLAS, Ilocos Norte (June 1) – Police have finally arrested three suspects in the gang rape slay of a high school student that happened two years ago in Brgy. Bingao, this town.
Police identified the suspects as Dennis Bulatao, 21; Reymund Ceriales, 18; and Lionel Alcausin, 20. When interviewed by reporters at their detention cell, they denied any knowledge and involvement in the crime.
It may be recalled that on January 3, 2014, the lifeless body of the victim was found floating in the small impounding project (SWIP) in said barangay.
Anita Asuncion, mother of the victim said that the arrests of the suspects will finally give justice to the death of her 16 year old daughter.
The suspects are now detained at the Ilocos Norte Provincial Jail in Laoag City. No bail was recommended for the trio. (tsg)
