Female hotel guest found dead

LAOAG CITY, Jan. 5 – A body of a young woman was found inside a hotel room in Brgy. 23, this city on Monday afternoon, January 4, local authorities reported.
Dr. Joseph Adaya of  the City Health Office, who examined the cadaver, said  that the cause of her death was due to alleged strangulation as evidenced by the presence of a shoelace looped around her neck. Her face had abrasions inflicted by beating and her severed head was possibly hit by hard object, he added.
Police identified the victim as Rose Layola Castro, a native of  Carmen, Bohol but she temporarily resided in Magat Salamat village, this city during the past six months.
Hotel record showed that she checked in last December 29, 2015. As usual hotel guest, she was seen coming in and out from her room every day. However, yesterday, hotel personnel became suspicious when she failed to come out from her room and she did not answer their intercom calls.
Police initially ruled out robbery as her jewelry and clothing were intact. Broken bottles of liquor were also seen inside the victim’s room.(tsg)
