EX-POSTMASTER VICTIMIZED BY PICKPOCKETS

SAN NICOLAS, Ilocos Norte, Aug. 18–Suspected pickpockets struck the handbag of a former local lady postmaster by slashing it with blade in a crowd at Robinsons Mall here, lawmen said. The victim, whose name was withheld, allegedly lost P27,000 and 200 US dollar cash to the suspects. She and her grandchild were about to buy medicine in a drugstore when she noticed her stolen money. Police had warned the public to be extra vigilant against pickpockets when going  in crowded places such as mall, public markets, inside jeepneys and even churches.
