DOST to hold National Science and Technology Week

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in Ilocos region will be holding the National Science and Technology Week (NSTW) celebration on July 25-29, 2016 at the CSI the City Mall, San Fernando City, La Union with the theme “Juan Science, One Nation.”

In this year’s NSTW, the DOST 1 will be highlighting its programs and projects such as Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program, Community Empowerment thru Science and Technology Program, High Impact Technology Solutions, Regional Standards and Testing Laboratory, Technical Assistance and Consultancy Services, S&T Scholarship Program, and Packaging and Labeling Services.

The technology exhibit for the five-day event will be participated by the State Universities and Colleges in Ilocos region to include Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University, Pangasinan State University, North Luzon Polytechnic State College, Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College and Mariano Marcos State University.

Also, the local government unit of Dagupan City in Pangasinan, Philippine Atmospheric and Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration will take part on said celebration.

The NSTW will showcase appropriate technologies, S&T Bazaar, Quiz Bee, S&T Fora and other exciting events in different venues to provide the public updates about the S&T community.

Admission to the NSTW is free of charge.

The NSTW and its corresponding events is in response to Proclamation No. 169, series of 1993 declaring the third week of July as the NSTW to highlight the significant contributions of S&T to national development.
