PAOAY, Ilocos Norte (Dec. 7) – Robbers carted away from the two occupants of a delivery closed van at gunpoint some P188,000 cash from their sales in Brgy. Nangguyudan, this town.
Investigators said that the delivery van came from Vigan City to deliver farm products and was on its way to the company-owned farm in said barangay, when the suspects intercepted the van.
The two occupants narrated that they were ordered to alight from their vehicle and dragged them inside the back of the delivery van.
The robbers also took the cellphone of one of the victims, it was reported.
P/Insp. Rodel del Castillo said that the investigators theorized inside job noting why the suspects knew the victims had cash with them.
He said that this highway robbery is the first in this town since previous robberies were done in residences. (tsg)
