Congressman Rodolfo C. Fariñas of the First District of Ilocos Norte celebrated his 59th birthday last Sunday September 5, at the Fort Ilocandia Resort Grand Ballroom.
Throngs of visitors, noticeably Mayors and Officials of municipalities, barangay chairmen, and provincial officials, literally trooped to the registration table that led to the huge function hall to partake the abundant and sumptuous lunch prepared for everyone.
The VIPs from Congress included Speaker Feliciano “Sonny” Belmonte, Jr., Senator Chiz Escudero, Deputy Speaker Crispin Remulla, Deputy Majority Leader Magtanggol Gunigundo, Congresswoman of the 2nd District of Ilocos Norte and Former First Lady Imelda R. Marcos and Congressman Jose Benjamin Benaldo of Cagayan de Oro.
Late but never too late was Governor Imee Marcos, a.k.a. Sarah Geronimo, who vowed that Ilocos Norte will be great again, owing to their “One Ilocos Norte” alliance with the Fariñases. She wished Congressman Rudy, a.k.a. John Lloyd, that he finds his real life Sarah Geronimo and to enjoy his last year as a “young” Rudy because next year he will already be a senior citizen.
Alongside the Governor, Congressman Fariñas promised to do his best in Congress, being the Deputy Majority Leader and a veteran of the 11th Congress, all for the good of the Province.
Incidentally, it was also the 19th birthday of his son Rudys Caesar II, the SK Chairman of Laoag City, and together in the “Putungan”, they sat side by side where all the well-wishers gave them flowers and showered them with petals, while the Laoag City Teachers Choir sang the “Padapadacam”.
