Cong. Fariñas blames no one for the death of his son

JR Farinas with DadIlocos Norte 1st district Rep. Rodolfo Fariñas is not blaming anyone for his son’s untimely death.

In a television interview, Fariñas said that it was clearly an accident saying that his son JR’s motorcycle allegedly malfunctioned.

“It so happened aksidente nga. Iyung motor niya nag-malfunctioned. While he was driving and overtaking namatay yung makina.”

He added that it was God’s will for his son to die at a very young age.

He added that his son was wearing safety gears when the accident occurred.

“God’s will naman yung nangyari at yung bata tinignan ko wala namang pagkukulang dahil naka-gear nga siya, naka-helmet siya.

“Kaya yung head niya walang injury kasi yung helmet niya first class gawa din ng BMW, he revealed.

Fariñas revealed that his son was well-equipped and trained in motorcycle riding since his entire family had undergone “riding course” with the Highway Patrol Group.
JR Fariñas died when his BMW S1000 motorcycle allegedly rammed into a concrete barrier last November 15.

The congressman related that the lower part of JR’s neck absorbed much of the impact, saying that “nag-slide siya tumama yung shoulder niya and everything at dito sa lower portion of the neck iyun ang tumanggap ng napakabigat na tama.”

The congressman thanked everyone who extended their condolences. Among the national figures who attended JR’s wake were Senator Chiz and wife, Mrs. Heart Escudero, former DILG Sectary Mar Roxas, and House Speaker Sonny Belmonte.

Family friends and relatives sent hundreds of funeral wreaths during JR’s wake.

Rep. Fariñas was outside the country when the accident of his son occurred. He said that he immediately came home to personally attend to the preparations for his son’s wake and funeral.
