LAOAG CITY – An official of the Commission on Elections here said that all local Comelec offices in Ilocos Norte are now ready to attend to the filing of the Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) starting on Monday, Oct. 12 until Oct.16, according to Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Alipio Castillo III.
He said local candidates may secure COC forms from the Comelec offices or may reproduce forms from the Comelec’s website.
Castillo added that the registration of voters’ biometrics is suspended for one week to give way for the filing of COCs.
The registration of biometrics will resume on October 17, after the COC filing period, he said.
He added that beginning October 17, the Comelec is extending its office hours from the usual eight hours to 12 hours a day, seven days a week, to accommodate late registrants until Oct. 31, 2015. (tsg)
