LAOAG CITY (Nov. 23) – Visiting Chief Justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno has conducted an ocular inspection of the old Marcos Hall of Justice building, seat of various Regional Trial Court branches and prosecutors’ offices here.
RTC Executive Judge Benjamin Turgano said that they (judges) were so glad that the Chief Justice personally saw the poor condition of the various court offices which the judges and employees have uncomfortably endured for the past many years.
With the CJ’s visit, he said, the concerned employees and judges occupying the building are hoping that the Supreme Court would prioritize the improvement of the structure to resolve their woes.
Meanwhile, a closed-door meeting between CJ Sereno, Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos and Sen. Bongbong Marcos was held at the Marcos Hall of Justice.
It was believed the three had talked about the proposed transfer of the Hall of Justice to a new site and the construction of a new building in a lot owned by the provincial government. (Theo S. Guiang)
