CIDG agents raid house of brgy chairwoman, son

LAOAG CITY, April 25–CIDG operatives raided the residence of a barangay chairwoman and the adjacent house of her son but the search for their target–three unlicensed firearms and ammunition turned negative.

Chief Inspector Arbel Merculio, CIDG head in the province, said the search warrant issued by RTC Judge Renato Pinlac of San Carlos, Pangasinan tasked the lawmen to search the dwellings of the two subjects and to seize at least three suspected loose firearms and ammos, if there were any.

Major Merculio said they found, instead a licensed baby M-16 armalite rifle and and a licensed caliber .45 pistol issued to the barangay chairwoman by the city government.
