Army troops deployed to beef up local police

LAOAG CITY (Oct. 3) – Army troopers were deployed in Badoc and Marcos, Ilocos Norte to beef up the police forces there due violent incidents, a report said.

P/Sr Insp. Leonardo Tolentino, Badoc police chief, said that the troopers serve as augmentation force to help maintain peace and order in the wake of recent spate of shooting incidents in Badoc.

Tolentino confirmed that seven soldiers composed the Army team led by Lt. Neil Amarillo.

On the other hand, Police Provincial Director Sr./ Supt. Gerardo Ratuita also said another augmentation Army troopers were deployed in Marcos town to help the local police in the maintenance of peace and order as the barangay election period had begun.
