AMNESTY DEADLINE FOR TRIKE FRANCHISES

LAOAG CITY, March 20–New tricycle owners, who bought franchises from previous owners and presently operating their tricycles within the city routes, could still avail of the amnesty program being granted to them by the city government until March 28, 2012 deadline, Mayor Michael V. Farinas announced. The amnesty, he said, aims to legalize the operators’ franchises. Sources said that many previous operators had sold their respective tricycle franchises to either relatives or friends at P200,000 or more due to the high cost of fuel gas and maintenance.(Theo S.
