LAOAG CITY, May 18 – “I have no rancor in my heart.”
This was part of the farewell words of outgoing Ilocos Norte chief provincial prosecutor Melecio Felipe.
Fiscal Felipe said the nature of prosecutor’s job is sensitive as he gains more enemies than gains more friends.
Those words were quoted by designated officer-in-charge assistant provincial prosecutor Maria Calija when interviewed by reporters here.
Reports said Felipe was relieved from his post through an order issued by Justice Secretary Leila de Lima.
It was alleged that a gun used by a suspect in a recent shooting incident was traced to have been licensed under the name of Fiscal Felipe.
Report further said that Felipe was reassigned to the regional prosecutor’s office in La Union.
