DINGRAS, Ilocos Norte (Sept. 4) – Incumbent Mayor Marynette Gamboa was elated over the decision of the Commission on Election (COMELEC) in denying the petition for the nullification of her declaration as the duly-reelected mayor of Dingras in the last May 2010 election.
The petition was filed by her mayoral rival, Barangay Chairman Joefrey Saguid of Barangay Guerrero, of said town.
She said that the recent COMELEC decision proved that the complaint against her had no merit and that her winning as reelected mayor of said town was valid.
She expressed confidence that the still pending disqualification case filed against her with the Comelec will also be soon decided in her favor. (EDG)
