Teachers in Ilocos Norte to get free flu vaccine

LAOAG CITY (Aug. 8) — Ilocos Norte Schools Division Superintendent Vilma Eda announced that public school teachers both from elementary and secondary schools will get free flu vaccine.

She said that the vaccine, available this month, is funded by the Department of Education under the Gender and Development program.

Eda cited that the free vaccine is a timely project since it is provided during rainy season when many of the teachers get sick of respiratory infection that usually leads to coughing, sneezing and even fever which may affect their teaching.

“It is very important that teachers are in good health to better serve their learners,” the school’s superintendent concluded. (tsg)
