Biking woman killed as truck bumps her

LAOAG CITY, May 15–Keziah Grace Suatin Asuncion, 21, single, died when a Hyundai Mighty Dropside truck accidentally bumped her while riding in a bicycle along Rizal St., Brgy 21, this city, police reported.

The victim fell on the concrete road due to impact. She was lying on the pool of her blood with her head facing the pavement when rescuers arrived.

She was rushed to the provincial hospital where she expired while being treated for head injury by doctors and nurses.

Police investigation showed that the victim aboard her bicycle was allegedly going to the market westward when she was accidentally bumped by the truck going to the same direction.

She allegedly tried to overtake another vehicle when the accident occurred, investigators said.

The truck driver of Brgy. Nalbo, this city remained under the custody of the city police traffic division pending the formal filing of criminal charges against him. (tri-media report)
