Teacher in hot water

SAN NICOLAS, Ilocos Norte, Aug. 19, 2020–A second-hand car sales operator accused a Laoag City public school teacher of illegally loaning to another person a car which he rented from his shop located in this town.

A certain Troy complained to the police that the suspect rented a motor vehicle from his shop for two days but it turned out that the vehicle was already loaned to another person without his consent.

He told investigators that the erring teacher rented his car for one day on the pretext that he was going to Pasuquin town to help fellow teachers in preparing modules for the forthcoming online learning.

He became worried when the teacher failed to return the vehicle.

In a frantic search, the lost vehicle was spotted in the highways at Suba, Paoay town.

It probably had mechanical trouble as it was parked at the roadside seen under repair.

Meanwhile, a certain Joel of Laoag City complained to the police that he and three other car owners were also victimized by the said suspect using the same alleged trick.

Investigators said they learned from relatives that the repeated wrongdoing of the teacher is their family’s big problem noting that they don’t condone it.

When interviewed, the suspect told reporters that he was willing to repay his accusers after a confrontation.

He admitted his guilt saying that money problems drove him to commit the offense. (tri-media report)
