PASUQUIN, Ilocos Norte, March 20– Two of six travellers from Burgos, Isabela were killed when the SUV Fortuner they were riding in figured in a vehicular self-accident at Brgy. Pragata, this town, lawmen reported.
SPO2 Joey Aninag, the chief investigator, identified the fatalities as Josephine Moises and Edmundo Martillano. Injured was the driver Novelito Abaya.
Aninag said the victims, mostly barangay officials of Burgos, Isabela, were en route to Laoag City to attend a convention when the accident occurred.
Aninag added that the driver admitted that when he felt sleepy he lost control of the vehicle and rammed an electric post on the roadside.
Due to the impact, the vehicle turned turtle and fell into the cornfield.
The electric post toppled towards the vehicle pinning the two fatalities who were seated at the middle. (tri-media report)
