PRO1 Receives Gold Eagle Award

CAMP BGEN OSCAR M FLORENDO, San Fernando, La Union- Region 1 Police Director Chief Superintendent Charlo C. Collado, together with the Command Group and Regional Advisory Council (RAC), received on Monday (August 14) the “Gold Eagle Award” for garnering a rating of 97.27% in fulfilling the Proficiency Stage of the PNP PRO1 Peace and Order Agenda for Transformation and Upholding of the Rule of Law (P.A.T.R.O.L.) Plan 2030 during the Conferment of PGS “Proficient” Status held at the PNP Multi-Purpose Center in Camp Crame which coincided with the 5th Founding Anniversary of the Center for Police Strategy Management (CPSM).

PCSUPT Collado expressed his elation for another achievement and he consider it as one step farther in the journey of PRO1 transformation. “Garnering this award is not mine to take; this is an achievement of every personnel of PRO1 who hardly worked to make this transformation a reality for Region 1 police. This is indeed an additional sort of inspiration for PRO1 to further re-ignite the commitment for a highly capable, effective and credible police service,” he said.

The Regional Director also thanked the PRO1 RAC for their support and contribution to PRO1 and vowed to continue what PRO1 has started and strengthen the PNP’s resolve to fight criminality and ensure safety of the community through the strict implementation of Project Double Barrel: Reloaded and compliance to the PNP P.A.T.R.O.L. Plan 2030.

“As we fulfill the proficiency level at its gold stage, I encourage everyone to keep the fire burning and let us again work together to surpass the challenges of the last stage which is the Institutionalization,” PCSupt. Collado added.

A Gold Eagle Award is being conferred to a PNP unit with an overall rating of 95 to 100 percent in certain stage of the PNP Performance Governance System (PGS).

The PNP PGS has four stages that include initiation, compliance, proficiency and institutionalization with the end-purpose of addressing organizational dysfunctions identified by studies and improve the quality of the delivery of police services in the country. It also aims to strengthen law enforcement capabilities and to enhance the welfare and benefits of PNP personnel.

In the proficiency evaluation process, the Strategic Readiness Test, Performance Audit and Unit Revalida were conducted focusing on the alignment of the activities, projects, and initiatives to the strategy. ###
