STO. TOMAS, La Union, Dec. 8–Playing with a sword or any bladed weapon is dangerous.
A 15-year-old suspect learned this lesson true but it was too late as last Thursday, a tragedy struck his bosom friend due to his alleged accidental wrongdoing.
A police report said the suspect (name withheld being a minor) was toying with a covered sword and aimed it at his bosom friend when the sheath cover got loose from its blade.
The uncovered blade accidentally slashed the neck of his friend, an incident also seen by witnesses, investigators said.
The victim, 15, a student of Cabaruan Integrated School here, was rushed to the hospital but doctors declared him dead on arrival. (w/ report from absalom flores)
