LBC remittance center robbed anew

LAOAG CITY, Oct. 30–Robbers broke into the LBC money remittance center on Rizal St., Brgy. 8, this city last Friday night and fled with nearly P300,000 cash, police said.

A report said the same LBC-Laoag courier firm was repeatedly victimized in the past by thieves.
Investigators said that in the latest incident, the suspects cut the galvanized roof of the building and used it as their forcible entry and exit point.

While inside, the suspects destroyed the CCTV camera and ransacked the safety vault where they scooped all the money content, the probers said.

Two security guards claimed they didn’t notice any suspicious activity inside while they were on duty that night.

Supt. Edwin Balles, city police chief, told reporters that all concerned employees would undergo a lie detector test to rule out the angle of inside job behind the heist. (tri-media report)
