Sheep born with single eye

BADOC, Ilocos Norte, Oct. 22–Curious onlookers flocked to Brgy. Mabusag, this town to see for themselves the newly-born baby sheep with single eye which became a well-publicized attraction.

The eye is located at the sheep’s forehead center and it has two eyeballs, report said.

Witnesses likened the rare figure of the infant animal to that of cyclops, a Greek mythology giant race with single eye in the middle of the forehead.
When reporters asked provincial veterinarian Dr. Loida Valenzuela, she explained the muscles in the head of the sheep did not mature well resulting in the abnormal growth.(tsg/bbr)
