Imee rallies Christian leaders to boost BL

  • Says “always guard your spiritual heart as

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan—Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos rallied Christian leaders to be “more aggressive in promoting brotherly love (BL) in our radically changing society” during National Bible month in a speech delivered before a crowd here on Jan. 27.

She recalled that it was her father, former President Ferdinand Marcos who signed the week-long celebration of National Bible into a law in 1982.

She lauded President Rodrigo Roa Duterte for expanding the celebration to one month Gov. Espino’s message was read by Provincial Employment Service Office manager Alex Ferrer, underscoring “the power of God’s word in the upkeep and progress of society.”

He said the province has strongly adhered to its spiritual moorings, under Gov. Espino even during the administration of his father, now Rep. Amado Espino Jr.

Board Member Niki ‘Boy’ Reyes, who represented Vice Gov. Ferdie Calimlim, cited Pangasinan’s peaceful atmosphere as a reflection of the Pangasinenses’ spiritual nature.

Marcos thanked the Pangasinenses for their support to her family led by the late president, adding that even Bongbong got 80 percent of the votes when he run for vice president.

“We are forever grateful to Pangasinan,” she said.“Always guard your spiritual heart, as everything flows from it,” Marcos said.

Lady Ptr. Myra Jalique, emcee, cited the Pangasinenses’ peace-loving nature as the province’s powerful formula for economic stability.

Tourism chair Malou Elduayan, information officer Orpheus Velasco, Sanggunian secretary Verna Nava-Perez and Dagupan City More Than Conquerors’ founder Norman Velasco spoke about the theme, “The Bible is the foundation of righteous leadership and living.”
