PAGUDPUD, Ilocos Norte (April 14) – The tribal people “Yapayaos” of the nearby town of Dumalneg staged a lightning protest rally in front of the municipal hall of this town.
Benny Aguinaldo, one of the protesters, said that the group staged the protest to demand the swift solution of the killing of Angelo Domingo, a member of their tribe.
He said that the witnesses are afraid to come out and testify. It was an election related incident, he said.
The protest rally only lasted about 15 minutes, it was learned.
Insp. Eduardo Santos, police chief said that Angelo Domingo was shot and killed by still unidentified men in Brgy. Sulvec, Pagudpud last April 4. (tsg)
