PINILI, Ilocos Norte (Oct. 30)- A police officer and his girlfriend, who were hiding for alleged involvement in illegal recruitment activities, were arrested by policemen in Brgy. Cabaroan, this town.
S/Insp. Charito Baldivico, town police chief, said the apprehended cop is member of the Police Security Protection Group based in Camp Crame, Quezon City and his co-suspect as native of said barangay.
The two, Badivico said are facing charges of illegal recruitment. Several victims alleged that the two had demanded money from them in exchange for processing their application to work abroad which turned out as fake.
Baldivico said his policemen were armed with valid arrest warrant issued by Judge Lita Tolentino of Branch 91 in Quezon City when they nabbed the suspects.. (Theo S. Guiang)
