BATAC CITY, Ilocos Norte (March 28) – A barangay councilman in this city was shot and killed by gunmen riding in tandem in Brgy. Tabug, here.
Police identified the victim as Jefferson Salacup, a tricycle driver and resident of Brgy. Rayuray of this city.
Initial investigation showed that he was shot by the assailant after he transported his passengers at the nearby cockpit arena.
The Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) team recovered 13 empty shells of cal. 45 at the crime scene.
Police said motive of the killing is still unknown. (Theo S., Guiang)
