PASUQUIN, Ilocos Norte (Dec. 10) — Barangay chairman Sosimo Corpuz of Sta. Catalina here was shot dead by still unidentified gunmen riding in tandem in Barangay Tabungao, this town, on Friday night.
Chief Inspector Dexter Corpuz, Ilocos Norte Police Provincial Office spokesman, said the victim was on his way home after attending a lantern parade at the town proper when he was ambushed at 6:45 p.m.
The victim succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds in different parts of the body, police said.
Investigators recovered several empty shells of bullets for Cal .45 pistol at the crime scene.
At press time, an investigation is still going on to determine the motive of the killing. (tsg)
