TOPNOTCHER HAILS FROM NUEVA ERA

NUEVA ERA, Ilocos Norte, Aug. 28–Ivy Elaine Aguilar Cadalzo, native of Barangobong, a remote upland barangay of this town, topped the August 2014 geodetic engineer licensure examination given by the Board of Geodetic Engineering.

As No.1 placer, she got an overall rating of 89.00%, said PRC (Professional Regulation Commission). It said 179 out of 479 passed the test held in Manila on Aug. 19-20, 2014.

Cadalzo graduated cum laude in geodetic engineering course at University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City. As young girl, she studied at Barangobong Elementary School of this town and went to the Science School in Valenzuela City, Bulacan.

Due to poverty, her father works as OFW in Saudi Arabia to alleviate the plight of the family and to help finance her school needs.(theo s. guiang/bbr/ga)
