SAN NICOLAS, Ilocos Norte, Jan. 3– The body of Shaina Ann Asuncion, 15, was found floating off Bingao water impounding dam project in Brgy. Bingao, this town.
Police said her cadaver was discovered by a passerby early this morning. Her body was virtually naked with bra remained intact. Her clothing, cellphone and slippers were found scattered near the crime scene.
Investigators said they were unsure if the victim was raped and killed before the body was dumped into the water dam.
The victim’s father Ignacio and brother Ryan positively identified the body as that of Shaina, who left their house at 11:00 a.m. that Friday.
She told the latter she was going to see a friend, an alleged tomboy, the father said.
Her family became worried when she didn’t return home that night. They tried to locate her whereabouts but failed to see her. She didn’t reply their text and call in her cellphone.
