Street sweepers, utility workers wear donated hats

LAOAG CITY, May 12 — Street sweepers, electricians and utility workers here are now protected from the punishing summer heat from sunlight for wearing their newly-donated working hats courtesy of the city government employees of Laoag.

The free hats were donated by the Laoag City Government Employees Association (LCGEA) headed by its President Mylene Isabel A. Pascual, also head of the city’s Community Affairs Division (CAD).

LCGEA officers, together with City Mayor Chevylle Farinas, distributed the hats after the flag raising ceremony at the city hall on Monday.

“This noble undertaking of the association in reaching out to the needs and priorities of the community is one of the commitments to our fellow city employees,” Pascual said.

“This is also in support to the cleanest, greenest and safest program of the city government,” Pascual added.

Street sweepers also requested brooms as their additional cleaning tools.

The LCGEA Officers had expressed gratitude to all the members, both the regular and the honorary members, for their continued support and cooperation to association’s projects and activities. (Cherry Joy D. Garma/PIA-1, Ilocos Norte)
