School principal stabbed to death

VINTAR, Ilocos Norte, May 31–Police Chief Jaime Quiocho reported that Timoteo Agpalza, a school principal of their family-run school learning center here, was found dead this morning inside his residence at Brgy. 5 San Ramon, this town.

His body bore four stab wounds. Agpalza, 75, single, lived alone in the house. His six sisters are living in nearby house. A relative found him dead early this morning when she went to bring him food for breakfast.

PC/I Quiocho said there was no sign of forcible entry in the house.

However, some of his cabinet drawers were opened and his personal belongings were scattered on the floor, he said.

A sister said the house of Timoteo, her sole brother, was burglarized twice in the past. Agpalza, a multi-awarded teacher, retired from the Florentino Camaguin elementary school here a few years ago.(jrg with reports from nm/jm/rl)
