‘Sabado’ Enlists 573 New Philhealthers

LAOAG CITY, June 27 – The nationwide registration of the National Health Insurance Program last Saturday brought to 573 the total number of new members in Ilocos Norte.

The second leg of registration during the Philhealth Sabado program attracted residents from Bacarra town where the event was conducted.

Alvin Luciano Ubasa, Social Insurance Officer, said new members were immediately issued Philhealth ID cards to ensure their access to health care services.

The day-long enlistment was meant to encourage parents and family members of public school students who are not yet PhilHealth members to sign up for the health care program.

On top of enlisting new members, the registration program included a forum where new and existing members were briefed on the benefits they could obtain from becoming a member.

The Philhealth Sabado was a collaboration of government agencies namely the Department of Health (DOH), the Departments of Education (DepEd), Interior and Local Government (DILG), and Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Other participating units were the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC), Leagues of Provinces, Cities, Municipalities and Barangays of the Philippines, non-government, professional, youth and civic organizations.

Other services delivered during the event were acceptance of PhilHealth Member Registration Forms (PMRF), premium contributions and printing of PhilHealth ID and Member Data Records (MDRs). (ANL/CCA-PIA 1 Ilocos Norte)
