LAOAG CITY, Jan. 13 – The administrator of PNRC-Ilocos Norte/Laoag City chapter has confirmed that the provincial government of Ilocos Norte had planned to transfer the Red Cross office to another place.
Administrator Edna Orcino said she met recently with the provincial officials, who disclosed that the site of the adjoining Red Cross and Heroes Hall Bldg. is being eyed as a commercial center.
She said that the officials have proposed that the Red Cross would occupy the ground floor of the Provincial Health Office near provincial hospital on P. Gomez St. here as its new office.
She noted, however, that the PHO ground has a limited space for the Red Cross services and other activities.
Record showed that the PNRC and the provincial government had a lease agreement allowing the Red Cross building to use the present site until 2031.
