Proposed bypass road to ease traffic

LAOAG CITY – City Mayor Michael Fariñas disclosed that the proposed bypass road project in the city may be implemented soon.

Fariñas revealed this proposed project after he met with officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

He said that the project is listed as one of the priorities of DPWH for next year.

The Mayor added that the fund to be used for the construction of said multi-million-peso project will be incorporated in next year’s national budget.

Recognizing this as a major project, he expressed optimism that it will be implemented during his administration.

The construction of the bypass road, according to the mayor, will solve the growing traffic congestion at the Gilbert bridge especially during rush hours.
