Prices of school supplies remain stable–DTI

LAOAG CITY – The Department of Trade and Industry provincial office here reported that the prices of school supplies and other prime commodities remained stable during the opening of school classes.

DTI Provincial Director Benjamin Garcia said that to ensure strict compliance on the Suggested Retail Prices (SRP) furnished by their office, they conducted random field and ocular inspections to some business establishments.

Garcia reiterated his call to consumers to be aware of what products they are buying if it contain toxic substances which may endanger their kids’ health.
He said that they should carefully check if the products are marked with Philippine Standard or Import Commodity Standard to ensure their safety. (Theo S. Guiang)
