Paoayeño,100, eats only veggies, fish

PAOAY, Ilocos Norte–Pablo Javier Negre, a fisherman of this town, turned 100 years old last January 22. His granddaughter Marlyn dela Cruz revealed to the media that her lolo’s secret of longevity is eating vegetables and fish as his daily food diet. He dislikes meat, she said. As hobby, he still goes fishing. He worked in Hawaii and returned to the Philippines at age 80 after his retirement. Other reported centenarians of Ilocos Norte are Salome Coloma ,105, of Laoag City; Agustin Simpliciano, 106, of Marcos town; and a former barangay chairman of San Isidro, 104, of Bangui town.(bbr)
