PA Chua heads new Resiliency Task Force

The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte under Gov. Imee Marcos has created the Provincial Resiliency Task Force (PRTF) to play a key role in the resiliency building of local communities that are vulnerable to hazards .

Gov. Marcos stressed the need of all residents especially those in high risk areas to be prepared by at all times when hit by a calamity.

The task force, chaired by provincial administrator Atty. Windell Chua, had lined up activities such as conduct of safety drills on various barangays in the province to be better prepared when calamities strike their areas.

Comprising the PRTF are representatives from various national agencies such as the Philippine National Police, Philippine Army, Philippine Coastguard, Environment and Natural Resources Office, as well as the different departments of the provincial government such as the Provincial Health Office, PSWDO, Engineering and Office of the Barangay Affairs.

Following its creation, the province’s DSWD listed at least 116 evacuation centers to be tapped immediately if the need arises.
